Overcoming Bloglessness

Daily Prompt: Far From Normal

Daily Prompt: Far From Normal

Many of us think of our lives as boringly normal, while others live the high life. Take a step back, and take a look at your life as an outsider might.

My Normal

If you peer into my life you may wonder what it’s like to live in a place so wild that it’s just as normal to carry bear spray as it is to carry lip balm.

You may be surprised that to learn that I often listen to french pop music.   C’est vrai!    J’adore Amelie Les Crayons et Marie Pier-Perrault.

Maybe I can impress you by playing, on piano, one of those french songs I learnt by ear.  Or I could play from the hymnal if you prefer.

Will you think it strange that I play from the hymnal but I don’t believe in gods?

Looking at my normal, you’ll see that I don’t cook.  My husband does the cooking and the grocery shopping.  Lucky me, eh?   I do regularly bake yummy stuff, but I don’t give dinner a thought.

If you’re peering in at the right time, you’ll have a good laugh when you see me doing the Monkey Cha-cha with my two little  grandaughters. Don’t be nervous when they fall backwards off a chair, into my outstretched arms and we twirl into a dramatic finish.  We know what we’re doing.

For many years I have suffered from debilitating bloglessness, only writing in my head, while everyone else posted and shared with ease. Previous attempts at recovery have failed, my secret journals edited to death, pages torn out, crumpled and trashed. I will not succumb to this embarassing condition. I will continue to struggle against the rampant backspacing and endless blank staring. I refuse to relapse into the void that is bloglessness. I can do it. I am doing it. I am Overcoming Bloglessness.

  3. Is the photo at the top of your blog your home?? Mucho jealous!!

    • That scene is a short walk from my house. We love our view of this mountain and, as if that weren’t enough, a waterfall! I moved here 2 years ago after a lifetime in the city. I still pinch myself!
