Mukluk Season

I LOVE my wearing my mukluks! They’re warm and cozy and they make me feel like Sacagawea.

It was an extravagant purchase when I bought them, ages ago; the most expensive footwear I’d ever had. I ordered them too large, as suggested by the manufacturer to allow room for thick, woolen socks, but with the felt liner inside, I don’t need extra sockage to stay warm. So, I look like Bigfoot, but I don’t care. I love my mukluks.

I like the ceremony of donning them, criss-crossing the long, supple leather thongs up and around the calf and tying off the top just so. I’m always happy when putting on my mukkys, anticipating the adventure of the day.

Sadly, one looks silly wearing mukluks in the summertime, so I wear these until mukluk season comes around again.

For many years I have suffered from debilitating bloglessness, only writing in my head, while everyone else posted and shared with ease. Previous attempts at recovery have failed, my secret journals edited to death, pages torn out, crumpled and trashed. I will not succumb to this embarassing condition. I will continue to struggle against the rampant backspacing and endless blank staring. I refuse to relapse into the void that is bloglessness. I can do it. I am doing it. I am Overcoming Bloglessness.
