Plan the ultimate celebration for the person you’re closest to, and tell us about it. Where is it? Who’s there? What’s served? What happens? Photographers, artists, poets: show us CELEBRATION.
The Old Gang
Mark doesn’t care for people or parties or going anywhere. His ultimate party is a one-man party in his recliner with a beer and big-screen.
But I’m planning this shindig.
I’ll invite the party gang from the mushball days, the camp-out days, the wild and crazy days.
Andy and Chris, Rick and Jan, Big Mark, the Fields brothers, Carol and Allen; it’ll be just like the old days. Only older.
It’ll be a multi-generational affair; our kids knew their kids and would love to see who they grew up to be.
It will be a surprise party. A smokin’, bar-b-que, bonfire party. A loud music, hot summer night party. With Daily Prompt footing the bill, we could have caterers and live music, but we don’t need all that. We party old school.
He’ll be flabbergasted that everyone made the twelve hour drive. And, since they all came so far, it will have to be a two day party, maybe three. We’ll cook a big breakfast in the morning, then we’ll split up into groups of sight-seers, shoppers, rafters, fishers, hikers and horse-back riders. In the evening we’ll gather again around the fire to share our adventures, our memories and stories.
It’s going to be a blast. It’s going to be the best party we ever had. He’ll be glad to see everyone.
He’ll be really glad, when it’s all over.
